Great venue, huge auditorium to see bands, great friendly bar and outside terrace bar to drink and catch up with friends
First time here was to see Hothouse Flowers and nothing could have been better! All the staff from the box office/reception, cafe/bar to security were kind and helpful. The cafe menu includes some reasonably priced items. The cheeseburger with fries for 6.50 is a winner. Exeter Phoenix is an amazing arts centre and I certainly hope to be back soon
Absolutely appalled by the way I was treated by a bouncer when I went to the New Years Event! I have been to many different events at The Phoenix and really enjoyed them all. Until now, Exeter Phoenix has been one of my favourite venues in Exeter with excellent food and drink facilities but also playing host to a great range of music events, not to mention the staff are extremely friendly!I paid 16, to go to the 'Back to the Future' event and was very excited to spend New Years there with my friends. However, whilst I was waiting for my friends who were in the toilets, I decided to lay back on one of the sofas; the next thing I know I was grabbed by a bouncer and told I was being kicked out! I was fully cooperative and coherent and was as polite as possible to this bouncer, yet I was kicked out and had my wristband ripped off me and told I was not allowed to come back in again! My friends asked why I was being kicked out and the bouncer said it was because I was fast asleep! What a ridiculous claim considering I was at an extremely loud music venue!Later on in the night my friends asked for the bouncers name and she proceeded to shout at them in a very aggressive manner, which I think was absolutely uncalled for.I feel utterly scammed as I had paid a lot for my ticket as well as buying drinks at the venue and I was only there for less than 2 hours!Safe to say I will never be going to the Phoenix again. My New Years was ruined!
Great place for hosting events, music and arts. Handy for shops and sightseeing too. Good facilities for food and drinks, eating.
Awesome venue for events especially when they open out all the rooms upstairs.. incredible. Love the smoking area as well! Super social
