We visited Hen House recently for my birthday and were really impressed with the food which included some authentic Polish dishes and other interesting sides, all freshly prepared. We shared a tapas style starter which was delicious and varied (and a very generous size). For mains, I had the pork special with red cabbage and sweet potato fries. The pork was excellent quality and beautifully cooked. My partner really enjoyed his first experience of Polish dumplings . The 2 for 1 cocktails were an added bonus! The owner was charming and although it was very quiet (weekday, mid January), we didn't feel at all rushed. Would highly recommend Hen house for authentic home-cooking, generous portions, good value for money and a warm welcome.
Driven by a motto: I have not been in every restaurant in Exeter but every restaurant in Exeter is in my list :). I went there with my family, we had a great time together, the gentleman who served our order was very kind and welcoming. I will go again! definitely recommended for chicken lovers. ;)
Food is amazing staff are legendary!!! Prices are fair and reasonable. What a great place to be!! Highly recommended one of the best place you can go in town.
Our third visit, still nice and cosy. And most of all delicious food at a competitive price. They ditched the hay which never bothered me so one sits on chairs now. It was different and made you sit upright, good for posture but someone must have complained. New waitress but still a tad awkward when entering the restaurant as no front of house.
Excellent quality! Starters are big portions. Very nice staff! Very friendly prices! Great atmosphere! Will xome back soon for sure! I recommend it to everyone!
